Thats about ten calls a day so they thought they would experiment with assigning two fulltime officers to respond to all of those escalating calls about encampments, littering, trespassing and panhandling. A lot of the time its people shopping downtown and really dont want to be bother bid people panhandling, aggressive panhandling. We get a lot of complaints about it. We have a lot of people are concerned that walnut creek will turn into some of the neighboring cities and close neighbors like San Francisco. Reporter officer clemente and silva volunteered for the program that launched in mid june. They have 94 complaints and made 25 arrests so far. Mostly for trespassing. Serious injuries. The man is okay. Then place say he drove off the road and toward another couple who were standing on a bluff. The woman suffered serious injuries. Investigators say he just kept driving into a wall and through yards. Now chp officer and Sonoma County sheriffs got there at about the same time and say he tried to run down both officers. The deputy fired several shots when koffi would not stop. Investigators say at least three bullets hit him through the windshield of the Security Guard truck. He is hospitalized in Critical Condition tonight. Facing two counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with with a Deadly Weapon and carjacking.
