hear from her. but now the big two things. it is the charges against these officers and this video, when will we finally when will the public finally get to see the video. and executive director of the local naacp gave us information about the possibility of these officers surrendering themselves. but again, that has not been confirmed. that is according to her and her sources. in the meantime, the community reeling, family members reeling. and this community bracing for what is to come. yeah, we had a conversation with the senior pastor at the mississippi boulevard christian church here, that is the church where they will have services for tyree nichols on february 1. so there is real concern. you know, he made no bones about worrying about whether this was going to be explosive, how people are going to on respond once the video is released. but he said that they have been in talks and he said he saw something that he has never seen before happen in this community, a
cost of pens and papers and notebooks and all of that that went up. back to school sticker shock as inflation sent the price of school supplies soaring. the impact it is having not only on parents, but also on business owners and teachers. how some people in california are making money by having their front yards ripped out. it is sunday, august 21st, welcome to a new week. we re so grateful you re waking up with us. good morning, amara. good morning, boris. happy sunday. and we begin this morning with the extreme weather threat across the southwest and southern plains. more than 12 million people under flood watches. yeah yesterday s search and rescue crews were out looking for a missing person in utah s zion national park. rangers say hikers were being swept off their feet by flash flooding on the virgin river. rescue teams were out in the mojave county area of arizona after rushing water washed out roads and trapped vehicles across that region. cnn meteorologist
collins in washington. reporter: good morning, christine. we are now learning that former president trump and his legal team are considering releasing the surveillance footage from those several hours when fbi agents were at mar-a-lago conducting that search of course of his property looking for classified information that they believe he took with him from his time in the white house to when he went to mar-a-lago as he left the day he was inaugurated. there were major questions of course this entire justice department investigation over how this information was handled and what exactly was taken down there and we re now told that despite that day when fbi agents showed up and they asked the trump team on the ground to turn off the surveillance cameras, they did not do so and they are now in control of several hours of footage of them actually being there conducting this search. and we re told that they are now considering releasing it, though there are some inside the form
judge to appoint a special master, an independent third party, to review what the fbi seized at his florida estate. trump also wants a more detailed receipt of what was taken by the feds. and for the government to return any seized documents that were, quote, not within the scope of the search warrant. while trump attempted to get his hands on those records, investigators are trying to track down additional surveillance footage from mar-a-lago. according to the new york times, this marks the second demand for security video of activity around where the documents were stored, leading up to the fbi s search. and, in a cnn exclusive, we have learned the justice department has issued a new grand jury subpoena to the national archives. they want more documents in the investigation into the january 6th attack on the u.s. capitol. let s begin with the fallout from the fbi search of mar-a-lago, cnn s senior crime and justice reporter katelyn polantz following with the latest. kat
