In november of 2016, the voterses paed proposition e which provides that the city shall maintain street trees and thus is liable for injuries and Property Damage resulting from the failure to maintain street trees. Prop e passed with almost 80 of the voters support and set aside 19 million a year to run this program, which went into effect july 1, 2017.
