Kansas continued its hot hitting Tuesday as the Jayhawks beat the Air Force Falcons 19-4 at Hoglund Ballpark. The Jayhawks have scored at least 18 runs in back-to-back games for the first time since 2007.
Kansas has won nine of their last 10 games, including an 11-7 victory against Texas Southern on Wednesday to complete a two-game series sweep of the Tigers. Kansas remained undefeated at Hoglund Ballpark this season, improving to 7-0 on the year. The Jayhawks are one of seven teams in NCAA Division I baseball to still be undefeated at home this season.
After rallying from an early 6-0 deficit to tie the game, Kansas allowed three runs on three hits in the bottom of the seventh inning, which allowed Michigan State to defeat the Jayhawks 10-6 Saturday in the second game of the First Pitch Invitational at Fluor Field.
Six days after beginning fall practice, the Kansas baseball team took the field for the first time under new head coach Dan Fitzgerald. On Saturday at Hoglund Ballpark, KU played a 14-inning exhibition game against Nebraska in front of an estimated crowd of 500 people.
