An officer saved a wild duck in distress after it tried to enter a house, a man hit a woman with a pickup and got a DWI, three violations were given for lingering outside a business with liquor, and other recent reports from the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Office
Just over a week after a fatal hit-and-run in Edwards, a closer look revealed more information about the young man who lost his life and what happened to him that night.
On Friday, Jan. 21, at 10:10 p.m., on the 28000 block of County Road 129, Ponsford, possible overdose. A 41-year-old woman received six doses of Narcan before finally responding positively. She was transported to a nearby medical clinic for additional treatment.
On Sunday, Dec. 5 at 5:18 a.m., on the 13000 block of Cedar Avenue, Frazee, a machine shop was reported on fire. All shop personnel evacuated safely and the fire was contained after about 2 hours. Also, since Dec. 2, 13 motor vehicle crashes were reported in Becker County. No injuries resulted from the crashes and some were the result of vehicle's striking deer on the roadway.
Law enforcement officers were involved in three different vehicle pursuits between Oct. 21. and Oct. 24. A 32-year-old woman was arrested in an Ogema pursuit, a 42-year-old man was arrest in a separate Ogema pursuit, and a 26-year-old woman fled on foot after a pursuit in a vehicle she took without permission. Additionally, on Oct. 24, on Redman Beach Road in Lake Park, a 2000 Mars Motorized Home was stolen. A suspect has been identified and the case remains under investigation.
