And in the other corner are republicans too cowardly to admit it. Let s start with dick cheney who made shock waves when he said he would vote for kamala harris over donald trump. He justified his support saying in our nation s 248 year history there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than donald trump. He can never be trusted with power again. Cheney of course joined the ranks of notable republicans who have vowed to support harris just like his daughter liz cheney and adam kinsingger. Republicanswho dare speak out against trump have been ostracized. That is why moderate republicans are hoping trump loses and loses big. Some of the republicans wishing for a trump loss include long standing gop figures throughout the nation who bleed red and wouldn t dare to say this publicly but who are more than ready to move on from the trump era. One conservative lawmaker told politico there is a lot of anxiety about what trump does to republican ability to win in
Been underway for several days. Just after 9 00 p. M. Eastern the new York City Police department breached Hamilton Hall using a truck with a ramp. That happened almost 24 hours after protesters broke into the building and occupied it. The nypd says Hamilton Hall is now cleared and so is the Tent Encampment on the south lawn of the campus. An nypd spokesperson spoke to nbc news shortly after the officers went in. The building was very heavily fortified. Doorways were blocked by Soda Machines, couches, plywood. So there were rumors that the nypd used tear gas. The nypd does not use tear gas. We use a Distraction Device. It is a device that is thrown and makes a loud bang. A stun grenade. It is a Distraction Device that makes a loud noise. That allowed officers time to get through the barricades. Columbia university formally requested Law Enforcement help earlier this evening. The weeks long negotiation broke down. Columbia released a statement saying the following. Quote, the decision t
Meadows. She was in the room for much of the controversy that has led to indictments against donald trump and many others. Right now, she saw trumps behavior firsthand. Knows about the Text Messages sent among circles inside and outside the white house. Republicans who begged trump to do something to stop the riots but those same people would get on tv and make up a case to challenge the 2020 Election Results knowing that trump lost. And Cassidy Hutchison says trump, too, knew he lost. In an interview today, she told me donald trump would be a threat to democracy if he should win again. Take a listen. People have been holding him accountable for the past years but obviously not accountable enough because we are in a position right now where its looking more likely than not that he could be the republican nominee and hes also been indicted four times. To me, its sad were in this place as a country where were looking at somebody who has executed this horrible assault on our democracy and
the last thing that he said there was maybe the most chilling in that sound bite you played, which is people in my department were working on it. why? he s the defense secretary. why did this off-the-wall, unbelievable idea even get to the point where people were clearly circumventing the sec-def here, the secretary of defense meaning it was real, right? meaning it was real because they knew people in positions like mike esper were trying to push back against some of these absolutely wild ideas that the president had and that were being pushed by the steven millers of the world. jim, i have known steven miller for years and years and years. he worked on capitol hill and worked for then senator jeff sessions. he is a one-note johnny.
cheney is looking at trumpism and trump is that unless you hold the person at the top the head of the fish or however the mafia sort of cliches go, everyone underneath thinks that they can operate with immunity and the importance of holding trump accountable is so the steven millers and mark meadows of the world see a president is not above the law trying to illegally overturn the will of the country in not just any country but what is supposed to be the greater democracy in the world. i said this at the top of the show. we have to stop covering it with disappointment and bewilderment. it s looked at through a political lens and not a security lens. i wonder if you think the committee is trained on making the arguments about the security situation and the threats that trumpism imposes. i know that they are and i
