Eldorado county. Reporter last year we were above average in terms of snow pack. Were at a lower elevation here. As we dig down, there is maybe three inches of snow here. It is not better much at the official measuring station. Thats where the department of Water Resources took their ewes out to do that First Physical snow pack measurement of the year. At this time, they measured nearly 49 inches of snow last year. In this mornings measurements, it was just nine inches. It is this snow pack that melts into the spring and provides the state of california with 1 3 of its entire water supply. This early measurement is not encouraging for state water officials.
