We have issued in the executived a state of emergency and we respond when these things happen so those folks who have been impacted just know the state of florida stands with you and we will handle whatever fallout is from these dangerous tornadoes. We are as a country in the midst of the great people and we see this throughout the land. Under the Current Administration in washington, homelessness is americans are living paycheck to paycheck and the federal budget deficit is expected to hit 2 trillion this year. A course more than

Congress has unique opportunity to address the issue and we are encouraged by the senates stated commitment to complete this year and we look forward to working with you in identifying ways in which we can address challenges in section 404 permitting program for Public Safety infrastructure. We would also like to address funding needs because without word and army corps our counties would not have been able to accomplish the multitude of projects that we have been able to carry out in several decades. Finally, we encourage congress to provide framework of meaningful consultation between the army corps of engineers on pending rules and policies that directly impact us. We believe that this will solve many conflict that is now exist between army corps and governmental programs and today we can work to make partnerships stronger. R. 3705, the veterans fair debt notice act of 2017 introduced by representative pingree of maine. This bill would help ensure that beneficiaries who have received an overpayment from v. A. Clearly under v. A. s current practice, when the department determines that a beneficiary may have received an overpayment, it sends a letter to the beneficiary that explains why the debt was created and how the veteran can dispute or mitigate the debt. But if v. A. Doesnt have the veterans current address, the veteran may miss important dead linals. For example, if the beneficiary intends to request a full waiver of their debt, but does not request that waiver within 30 days of the date of the letter, v. A. May take action to withhold benefits until the waiver request is adjudicated. Sounds confusing, it certainly is. We
