The assistant fire chief says smoking materials, specifically a cigarette butt is believed to be the cause here. Thanks to a working smoke alarm and a neighbors quick action, no one else was hurt. Firefighters found a man inside a second floor bedroom and identified him William Patton. They pulled him out, he was unconscious.
