SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - On Tuesday the CDC and FDA recommended a pause in the use of Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines after reports of rare but serious blood clots in a handful of women. The recommendation brought up new concerns for those combatting vaccine hesitancy.
St. Josephâs/Candler Health System has been tackling that issue for a while. St. Josephâs/Candler is continuing with their mission to help vaccinate underserved populations. So far they have partnered with five area churches to build trust and get vaccines out to as many people as possible.

Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship has officially been transformed into a COVID-19 vaccine clinic. Itâs thanks to a unique partnership to bring the vaccine directly to the community.
âMany of the elderly canât get out or they canât get online to put their name online. Itâs a problem for many elderly and so making it available through the churches is an excellent idea,â said Evelyn Cruse of Pooler.

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Memorial Healthâs plans to build two freestanding ERs in Bryan County and Pooler have hit a snag. We first told you about the project a year agoâMemorial Health plans to build freestanding ERs equipped with staff and specialized equipment to help with emergencies.
But for now, those projects are halted after the state granted an appeal filed by competing healthcare networks.
