A group of businesses has filed a lawsuit against Gov. Kate Brown over her recent extension of Oregon’s state of emergency, which was first implemented in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A group of businesses and political organizations in Oregon are suing the state's governor over her extension of a state of emergency declared in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The lawsuit looks to restrain Governor Brown s emergency order, which was extended to June 28.

GRESHAM, Ore. The mayor of Sandy has filed a lawsuit against Governor Kate Brown.
Mayor Stan Pulliam was joined by business leaders and other groups as he announced his lawsuit, which looks to restrain Brown s COVID-19 Emergency Order, which was recently extended to June 28.
The lawsuit also aims to force the governor to hand over scientific data to prove why it s necessary to lock down businesses.
According to the lawyer representing the groups in the lawsuit, there are four plaintiffs, which includes The Heart of Main Street Coalition, The Oregon Moms Union, and the owner of the restaurant Spud Monkeys and her corporation.
GRESHAM, Ore. (KPTV/CNN) – A group of people outside Portland, Oregon is suing the state over COVID-19 restrictions. The plaintiffs say the pandemic has disrupted their lives and businesses for too long.
Standing as a group Monday afternoon, Sandy Mayor Stan Pulliam and local business owners stood together with a message to Governor Brown.
“There is no scientific evidence that’s yet to be presented, on why we continue to be in such an emergency order of lockdowns, and they must come to an end,” Mayor Pulliam said. “We are filing in federal court an order to restrain Governor Brown’s emergency order.”
