Authorities in Simi Valley are continuing to look for a car and a suspect after a carjacking turned violent this week.
The incident unfolded shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Springgate Lane when a resident leaving his home saw a man inside his car, according to the Simi Valley Police Department. A struggle followed when the victim tried to make contact with the unfamiliar man.
As the victim leaned in the driver s door, the suspect reportedly drove forward to flee the scene, briefly dragging the victim, according to police. The victim fell to the ground and a car tire ran over his leg, injuring one ankle, officials said. The victim was treated at a hospital.
