Belchertown officials grappling with unsafe water, private sewer problems Updated Jan 12, 2021; BELCHERTOWN – The Selectboard at Monday’s meeting endorsed using some town money to address long-standing water and sewer issues at the privately-owned Sports Haven Mobile Home Park located at 370 Mill Valley Road. Belchertown Town Administrator Gary Brougham estimated the total water and sewer and infrastructure fix could total $1.5 million. How much of this might be in the form of Community Preservation Act funds that comes from property taxes, and how much could be from federal community block grants is yet to be determined. There have been boil orders in place going back years, including one ordered in 2018 by the state department of environmental project because water out of the faucet is unsafe at Sports Brook.
