ASP Tirkey, a loco-pilot working with the Ranchi railway division of the South Eastern Railways (SER), flew out to New Delhi on Friday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi on Sunday. Tirkey, a Ranchi resident who has been serving in the Indian Railways since 1990, is among the 10 loco-pilots, who operate the Vande Bharat trains selected from across the country by the ministry of railways to attend swearing-in. He is the only one to be selected from South Eastern Railways zone, divisional officials said. Tirkey is an intermediate and an ITI graduate who was promoted to the rank of loco pilot in 1997. He is a loco pilot of the Vande Bharat Express and has been operating Vande Bharat trains connecting Howrah and Varanasi from Ranchi.
