brother, 50-year-old keith caneiro was found shot dead on his front lawn. that house was also burning. keith s wife, jennifer, their 11-year-old son jesse, and 8-year-old daughter sophia were found dead inside, badly burned. police believed that they were targeted. this was not random. they also say the family of four was murdered before the inferno was started in the home. paul and keith were partners at a technology firm called square one. they are investigating if and how these fires are related. this is one of the most heinous cases that they have ever investigated. they want to give justice to the caneiro family, but sometimes that term is thrown around. we really mean it. we really hope that we can solve this. vigil was held last night in new jersey. the caneiros were well-known, often seen at shops.

welcome back. saturday will mark one year since the sandy hook mass shootings, the murder of 20 children and 6 educators led many to ask whether as a society we are doing everything possible to prevent such an attack. some have focused on changing policy, others question whether our attitudes are part of the root of the problem. many victims family wrestled with the same questions. each of us, each family, is union unique in our even responses following this tragedy. and we each have our own voice and perspective. today we are joined by one of the family members, neil lost his 6-year-old son jesse in the shooting. thanks for joining us today. i want to start by asking how you and your family are just marking this anniversary. it s been a very difficult year. i think we re just trying to
feel like it opens up wounds, just knowing that it s out there? yes, because i don t know if i m going to turn on the radio one day or turn on the tv one day or be googling on something and just happen to come across them by accident. reporter: she s one of many who fought to keep the 911 calls confidential but the town released the nearly 18-minute recording wednesday after a court ruling. the judge in the case says not releasing the call only serves to fuel speculation in our law enforcement officials. i did listen to them. i did hear them. reporter: neil lost his 6-year-old son jesse. while he didn t want the calls to be released, he felt compelled to listen. i felt it was something i needed to do or wanted to do, just to know. you know, jesse was my son. i brought him into the world. reporter: some victims relatives like the daughter of slain principal dawn, the audio
