A Georgia jury awarded $2.5 million this week to the family of a 92-year-old woman who claimed she spent the last week of her life in agony after being stung repeatedly by fire ants that had infested her room and body at an upscale assisted living care facility.

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCSC) - Members of Mount Pleasant Fire Station #5 are staying in unique temporary living quarters while the station undergoes renovations. Over the last month, fire crews have been living out of a villa at Somerby Senior Living in Mount Pleasant.
Christie Gauldin, the Director of Sales and Marketing, says she was a little surprised when Mount Pleasant Fire asked if their crews could stay there while their station underwent renovations, but she knew it was something they had to make work.
SANTA ROSA BEACH Residents of Somerby Senior Living got an unusual visit Friday in the form of Mr. Peanut, the more than 100-year-old legume mascot of the Planters brand nuts.
Sporting his signature top hat and monocle, Mr. Peanut arrived at the assisted living facility in the Planters NUTmobile.
“The NUTmobile is a 26-foot peanut on wheels,” said Shannon Hope, who is one of nine crew members or “Peanutters” who drive Planters’ three NUTmobiles around the country for a year.
“We stop in a new city each week and our goal in every city is just to spread smiles and bring joy to the communities we visit, Hope said.
