Morning. That is three times the normal amount. That truck blocked the area for nearly three hours. The driver was okay and no other vehicles were involved. Now the sacramento area has had more severe weather. Check out the hail pelting this back yard pool. It came down like this for several minutes. The area also has been dealing with a number of lightning strikes as well. And if youre headed to tahoe, youre going to need chains on interstate 80. Several semi trailers jackknifed on slick roads and a half dozen cars slid off. Visibility was down to zero, but it is a bit clearer there now. Several funnel clouds were spotted in sacramento this afternoon. This one was seen just across highway 50 from the state fairgrounds. The National Weather service tweeted out a picture of this this afternoon. None of the funnel clouds touched down but they were very dramatic. And the rain also brings rainbows. Pam. A little cold for some, 30s, 40s, but temperatures will be heading up and moving out pretty fast here. A lot of 70s showing up today. In fact, above average on almost every temp, not only today, tomorrow but probably all the way into saturday. Yesterday upper 60s san jose, livermore, palo alto and santa rosa. Today all 72. So temperatures will continue. Theyll be a lot of low to mid 70s. Itll be clear, good to go. A couple cold spots here, still some 30s, so its a cold morning, but well rebound pretty fast. Everything continues to be up and over. Theres a lot of energy out here. Unfortunately theres no sign until the middle of next week some of that coming through. In the meantime High Pressure is large and in charge and wind is out. So a colder morning, but a warmer avenue. Maybe a little patch or two of some fog, but not a lot. This demonstration is part of a larger effort across the whole uc system to protest tuition hikes and police brutality.
