Cal fire saying its at 200 acres. You could see big flames and heavy smoke from a distance. This fire is threatening structures. Another larger fire is burning in calistoga off 128 and tubbs lane. The fire expanded to west of highway 101. Weve talked about it jumping the highway, in the northeast santa rosa neighborhood near the kohls store at coffee lane and hopper avenue, the northernmost residential area in santa rosa, there are several structure fires there. Cross creek road, sky farm drive, st. Andrews drive, all residents north of Fountain Grove park way, montecito heights, those are all mandatory evacuation areas. Residents need to heed Evacuation Orders according to the city of santa rosa. Evacuation means you need to leave immediately. Please gather personal belongings, pets and go to the Findlay Community center at 2060 west College Avenue. That is a shelter that is set up for those people. The fire is believed to have started near highway 128 there in napa county and this progressed to santa rosas city limits. Has burned 20,000 acres one of the larger fires burning right now in the north bay. Just to the south there is a fire burning near sears point in napa county crews are battling the atlas fire and the Silverado Country Club has been evacuated. These are live pictures from santa rosa. One resident described the experience as a firestorm. He said his neighborhood was gone. Skyfox shows that homes are burning right now over this neighborhood. You can see what appears to be destruction down below in this particular part of santa rosa. Santa rosa, thats where jr is live, the flames have creeped closer where are they now . Reporter the good news is that there are firefighters in that area where we are. At one point, the flames were within the neighborhood of 30 to 40 feet. I was able to go back behind that house to see how close they got. But those firefighters showed up and really helped out in that scenario, we will get to that in a moment but i wanted to show you what it looks like in oakmont. Thats the fire line up in the hills over here. I want to pan out to get you a better shot of the fire line in the distance, you get a real perspective in the evening hours of what is looks like, you can see where things are burning when the sun goes down.
