Santa rosa, thats where jr is live, the flames have creeped closer where are they now . Reporter the good news is that there are firefighters in that area where we are. At one point, the flames were within the neighborhood of 30 to 40 feet. I was able to go back behind that house to see how close they got. But those firefighters showed up and really helped out in that scenario, we will get to that in a moment but i wanted to show you what it looks like in oakmont. Thats the fire line up in the hills over here. I want to pan out to get you a better shot of the fire line in the distance, you get a real perspective in the evening hours of what is looks like, you can see where things are burning when the sun goes down. You can see how bad the flames are in the one section, i was down there for two hours and we did not see any houses catch fierks the firefighters got there just in time,
I do want to go to some of the video because i was up on that hill earlier this evening and if it werent for the cell signal, wed be going live up there right now. You can see those flames and just how close they were to some of the homes earlier this afternoon, at one point between 30 to 50 feet from those homes on woodley place, but they have since dissipated at this point and even gone in the other direction a bit and the good news this evening is the fact the wind is not nearly as strong as it was earlier this afternoon in this area. Most of the people have been evacuated from here. I mean it was a mandatory evacuation. I did talk with a couple people who chose not to leave despite that mandatory evacuation. They advised us get out now and i said we will be ready to go if we think were in jeopardy and they were insistent and we said, you know, bear with us. We want to stay as long as we can.
