144 Congress party workers and independent supporters join BJP in Karbi Anglong

Our Correspondent Diphu, July 12 (EMN): In what could be called a major development in the political scenario of Karbi Anglong, 144 party workers and supporters from Congress and independent supporters from Howraghat and Socheng Dhenta MAC constituencies on Tuesday joined BJP during a mass joining program held at BJP-East Karbi Anglong District Committee office at ARTC 1st Gate-Diphu Manja Road. Congress leaders and workers of Howraghat Block Congress Committee, 25 strong supporters of United Democratic Front of Surupathar and APHLC workers from Lumbajong joined the BJP party. Our CorrespondentDiphu, June 11 (EMN): The fate of 154 candidates, who contested in the 13th Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) election, comprising the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong, will be declared today (Sunday). The counting will be held in – Diphu Government Boys HS School; Government Girls High School, Diphu; Bokajan Higher Secondary School and Govt. Higher Secondary School, Hamren. At Diphu Government Boys HS School and Government Girls High School, counting will be held for 10 MAC constituencies of — Lumbajong, Dhansiri, Singhason, Langfer, Phuloni, Langhin, Karkhanti, Mahamaya, Nomati and Howraghat — , while in Hamren Govt.
