expected wednesday before the storm exits out into the atlantic. meteorologist britley ritz has the latest forecast for us. so britley, what are you seeing? some locations in new york, like south of poughkeepsie from a storm reporter bringing in 43 inches of snow. others just showing you how sharp this cutoff was and how difficult it was to forecast this kind of system. from packs burpaxton to shrewsb, a 14 inch difference. the low pressure riding off the side of the coastline, bringing in still heavy snow bands to parts of new england. this is going to be an ongoing situation through the rest of your wednesday. the heaviest snowfall expected to stay in northern new england, parts of new hampshire and vermont, where another foot of snow is expected.
even the most chill of parents know when it s time to go into protect mode. nothing kills more viruses on more surfaces than lysol disinfectant spray. from california to maine, millions in the u.s. are being hit with ice, snow, and blizzard conditions. a multiday weather event shut down roads, forced thousands of flight cancellations, and of course hundreds of thousands of power outages, as well. and it s not over yet. meteorologist britley ritz joins us now. how much longer have we got of this, then, britley? mostly the snow across the great lakes have tapered back a little bit. still holding to lake enhanced snow bands, but nowhere near what we dealt with yesterday. unfortunately we still do have
pittsburgh to washington dealing with the rain. here s how the system plays out. we have one more-ish day to deal with this. there s the snow that s going to be mainly across parts of the upper peninsula of michigan where we ll be dealing with heavy snow there. as we transition through the afternoon hours in parts of the northeast and new england, we ll see the rain and the snow mix. so travel will, again, be tricky. by the time we get into tomorrow, this system will continue moving offshore but we have the lingering snow showers especially downwind of the lakes. we ll have those snow bands set up in places like cleveland, buffalo where they will get added snowfall. here s the totals that we re expecting through the rest of the day, today and into tomorrow. another 1 to 3 inches from minneapolis, more significant snowfall up to a foot for marquette. and the northeast, burlington, anywhere from 4 to 8 inches. the interior areas of the northeast, into parts of new england, that s where w
change friday and saturday in the east it s the west still on thursday. we re watching major impacts from seattle to salt lake city, san francisco, los angeles in phoenix we could see some big problems on the roadways and also in the air. we re expecting heavy snow and also some rain in addition, we could see winds gusting to 70 miles an hour at times. the great lakes, i wanted to show you a radar the snow bands are becoming less intense. you can see some white showing up that s heavy snow just south of watertown, so we re still seeing snow falling we re going to continue to see it falling for the next few hours. we have winter advisories for the next few hours this is where we re going to focus our attention this week. we re looking at lots of moisture, heavy rain where you see the brighter colors, the reds, yellows, oranges, seattle, san francisco, even down to los angeles later today. heavy rain falling we could see up to 6 inches in
