bonnie schneider. we re looking at a really good-looking forecast for times square, mostly cloudy, southwest winds, and a comfortable temperature of 40 degrees. well, it s not going to be in 40 degrees in massachusetts today when they re shoveling out from all the snow. let s show you what it looked like in bowlowell, mass, with really heavy snow and tough travel conditions and it s not over yet. we re looking at that threat of snow into morn mainorthern main. we re watching for those lake-effect snow bands to work their way through, as the colder airomes over the warmer waters ofhe great lakes. look for more additional snow and a clipper system coming in. it s going to be snowy in this region over the next 24 to 48 hours. watch out for those heavy snow bands going forward. elsewhere across the southwest, we re rolooking at more moistur. watch out for more rain happening right now in los angeles and orange county. we ll see some rain potentially in the burn areas. watch out for debri
what s on your radar? the lake effect snow and the wind this afternoon. you can see the snow coming in now to cleveland, buffalo. we have colder air over the warmer waters of the great lakes. that kicks up the intense snow bands. that s something i m concerned with throughout the day. heavy snow into northern maine. watch for lake effect snow going forward. let s look at what we can expect over the weekend. there is another storm coming through. a fast moving clipper system that will bring only additional lighter snow. we have airport delays due to rain in los angeles and strong wind in newark. 30 miles per hour wind gusts now. in california, the rain has been pretty tremendous, i would say, for southern california standards. we are looking at rain for san diego and more storms expected there. through the weekend an unsettled weather pattern emerging with rounds of rain. mountain snow in the southwest. moisture out there. that will work into southern arizona just north of phoenix. we
colder land, it just dumps snow. we could see really heavy snow bands. take a look at the wind forecast. they ll really crank up tonight. even though we re not looking at a snow event for long island, we ll see those fierce winds gusting to 30 miles per hour. also strong winds of nantucket, south of boston. looking at temperatures across the country, we re still looking at colder conditions into the northeast. definitely milder conditions in the south. still looking at those incredible numbers. dallas, your high today is 58. that s a lot cooler than it was yesterday, but still above normal. we ll stay cold in the northern tier of the country. all eyes are really on this storm system because it s really the first nor easter we re seeing so far of the season, chris. so keeping a close watch on that. also, just to let you know, temperatures are still above normal in florida, where we have highs in the mid-80s in miami. that may seem typical for miami, but really not for this time of year.
