california. police are quoted as saying a man and a woman were involved in a shootout with a security guard near the apple store at the ranch town center. a fourth person who was in the parking lot was killed when a bullet went through the passenger window of their car. that car, a silver acura, reportedly jumped the curb and crashed into a planter or a pillar. it all happened this morning while the center was closed. the man and woman are reportedly in custody after a brief pursuit that ended a few blocks away, and according to local reports, they were seen after the shooting being picked up by a black lexus. the man had been hit by gunfire, they say, and police say 40 rounds were spent in this shootout. the glass front door of the apple store at the shopping center is reportedly shattered. a police helicopter was circling nearby neighborhoods telling residents over a loud speaker to stay indoors with their doors locked. two schools are near that shopping center, and officials at both
