A Williamson County man who forced a neighborhood evacuation Tuesday threatened to burn down his house, kill law enforcement officers and commit suicide just days after authorities served him divorce papers last month, court papers show.
John Christopher Crawson, 47, is charged with making terroristic threats in connection to this week s incident at his home outside Round Rock. Officials say they found homemade bombs in his house, prompting an evacuation of nearby homes.
Authorities arrested Crawson on the felony charge Tuesday at his home in the 2500 block of Santa Barbara Loop. Sheriff’s Lt. Jason Braeutigam said investigators found multiple improvised explosive devices there when officers executed a search warrant.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Heavy overnight snow caused some difficult conditions for the Tuesday morning commute. Many say itâs all just a part of living in the north country.
At times, 1 to 2 inches of snow an hour hit Watertown Tuesday morning, leaving many cars buried.
Watertownâs plow crews were out early, clearing as much as they could before the streets became more crowded.
While you might think it wasnât easy going, Street and Sewer Supervisor Shawn Dick says this is a walk in the park for the plow drivers.
Williamson County commissioners have approved a resolution asking the Legislature to establish a new district court and a new court-at-law for the county.
District courts in the county had a 20% increase in case filings between 2015 and 2019, according to a study by the state office of court administration.
Ronald Morgan,
the county s director of district court administration, presented the study to the Commissioners Court on Tuesday. It said there were 7,446 cases filed in Williamson County courts in 2015 and 8,909 cases filed in 2019. We have seen many changes in the past 10 years as the Williamson County population has soared, 425th District Judge Betsy Lambeth told the commissioners. We ve gone from a mostly rural community to an urban community and our justice system needs to grow with it.

This year, COVID-19 is making things more complicated.
In the Town of Denmark in Lewis County, the highway department is on COVID lockdown.
“I have 5 employees who can’t come into work until they test negative or the 14 days pass,” said Highway Superintendent Patrick Mahar.
The good news? The employees can still operate plows, with added precautions and disinfectant wipes.
“They will be able to drive, they just have to have a mask on and they have to have eye protection. And when they’re done plowing they have to go home and quarantine,” Mahar said.
