Katsina again: 80 Islamic school students abducted, rescued by security forces

Share The Katsina State police command has confirmed the abduction of 80 Islamiyya school children by bandits in Mahuta village of Dandume Local Government Area of the state. This was contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, SP Isah Gambo issued to newsmen on Sunday. TODAY December 20, 2020 One of those abducted by bandits and sebsequently rescued by security agencies in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina Stateon Sunday has narrated how they were kidnapped. Auwal Salihu, a teacher, said 84 students and 3 teachers were ambushed by the gunmen on Saturday night. According to him, they were on their way back from maulud celebrations held at a village called Un guwar AlKasim when the attackers flashed lights at them and surrounded them with guns. Daily Post Nigeria Published The Katsina State Police Command says it has rescued 80 abducted pupils of Hizburrahim Islamiyya, an Islamic school in Mahuta, Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State. The Police Public Relations Officer in Katsina State, Gambo Isah revealed that a team of combined security operatives carried out the rescue mission on Saturday. A statement issued on Sunday by Gambo Isah said the Islamiyya students were on their way back from a Maulud occasion at Unguwan-Alkasim, Dandume to Mahuta, when they were ambushed by bandits.
