New Delhi: Early today, April 1, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted that the government will withdraw orders to cut interest rate on small savings schemes. Her tweet mentioned that the orders had been issued by “oversight” â thus opening the floodgates to social media users who made the most of the word.
Interest rates of small savings schemes of GoI shall continue to be at the rates which existed in the last quarter of 2020-2021, ie, rates that prevailed as of March 2021.
