Barbara franklin was the point person for this and it was a Real Initiative on the part of the Nixon Administration. Did this come from pat nixon . We dont know. Safely in person as long as they stayed in their cars. Kpix 5s jackie ward attended a drive in service in san jose. Reporter with the service up on the big screen, members of the church to the radio. It was some sort of escape to bring them comfort. This easter, even though it is now five weeks of being sheltered in place, i believe this Easter Service is pivotal. Reporter with cars circling around and the word of god broadcasting over the air, Easter Sunday looked and sounded a little bit different for church this year. Instead of filing in to rows, they stayed in their cars as they listened to a 15 empty ceremony. It was bittersweet. I feel like we all miss each other a lot and it was emotional because we cant see each other anymore and so it was nice to see everybody but also just brought up a lot of feelings we are not able to see each other because of the pandemic.
