Live in the neighborhoods and they are associated with their neighborhood, organizations. And we want that model to obviously remain in place, but that is how people gain access. And so what we are looking to do is to strengthen that no wrong door model at the same time that we have a central door that people can count on and also when you look at San Francisco and all of our diversity and how the Community Organizations have come together, or not, come together, over the years, but focused on populations of people, and there is a lot of strength in that, and but, over i think that the last and especially, i would say probably the last ten years, there is a lot more of those organizations that come together, so, and i think that this particular recommendation is important to me, because this is really, the community and people in the work group coming together and saying, yes, that should take a leadership role in this area. And it should strengthen its central door and that moves us r
Propose, an alternative model on or for cooperation, and i am quoting here. The reason they were proposing this model, is to reaffirm faith in the fundamental rights and equal rights of men and women and to practice tolerance and live together in peace as good neighbors. And that is from the preamble of the charter of the United Nations in San Francisco in 1948 and that should guide us as we move forward to our exploring Cost Effective strategies on tackling homelessness. And i was aformally homeless and in the end of 2011 and i was successful in having the table housing now, and through, the help of and in San Francisco who provide the help to the community and so
They started to carry that cash and luckily i got pushed into it and a shelter, which was a good thing in the beginning i was lucky enough to get in housing, so the thing that helped me mostly was getting involved with the community and i speak to you guys and the other part was just recently happen is by a lucky turn not going through a drug program or not being arrested or anything like that, i have got exposed to a trauma recovery, and point being, it made me aware of the culture that we live in, and the people that do live in the sro it is like a trauma culture and i want to push out listening to the different options that were here and 11,000 for a shelter and 4,000 for the housing, and so my thing is awareness and i guess, work as a resource for people that are homeless and educational awareness. Common is this you know really wanting to be at home. And in our world we call that living in the least restrictive environment but what it boils down to as most of us want to cage in our homes and have that, what you know, the flexibility and the control of our environment and that is where we have it most. And so what we have that as an understanding of the population that lives here and really that is the truth for people whether they are in south dakota or knee or wherever they are and we hold that in common, San Francisco has really been unique in the sense that it is formed much of its Public Policy around what its citizens want in this area, and so what we have seen over, i think that probably over the last 20 years is any number of initiatives where, the council and others, have come together to say, how do we move what people want forward. And so, we have things like the Community Living fund and we have the deversion and the Community Integration program. And we have a number
