A woman told police her speedometer âwas outâ when she was caught driving at 118km per hour on a road near Clermont.
Police officers were travelling south on Gregory Developmental Road near Belyando Crossing on September 25, 2020, when they saw a vehicle driving at speed towards them and recorded a speed of 118km/hr in a 100km/hr zone.
Rebecca Fay Potts pleaded guilty at Clermont Magistrates Court on April 14 to disobeying the speed limit.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Cramp said when police spoke to Potts, she thought she was travelling about 115km/hr in a 110km/hr zone.

Subscriber only Criminal lawyer Andrew Hanlon, of Potts Lawyers, appeared on behalf of Edwards via phone at Moranbah Magistrates Court on April 15. He explained there was one outstanding item as part of the brief of evidence that had been delayed due to the police officer involved being on extended leave. Mr Hanlon was seeking at adjournment to progress the matters. Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Cramp said he had spoken to the arresting officer and Mr Hanlon could expect the additional materials within the fortnight. Police sent out alerts during the Moranbah assault investigation asking for information about this Holden Commodore utility.
