Organized by the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement at Washington University in St. Louis, Civic Action Week run from Oct. 16-22. Events include the art exhibit “The Queer Experience: Joy as Resistance,” a panel about labor rights and a WashU Votes happy hour for graduate students.
When Washington University opened the new East End of campus, it was hailed for its commitment to accessibility. The new buildings all had large, street level entrances, automatic doors not only for exterior doors but inside as well, and large centrally located elevators. However, for many disabled students, there remains much room for improvement on the rest of campus.
Every night, members of Washington University in St. Louis’ 400-plus student groups and nearly 500 intramural and club sport teams fill campus classrooms, studios, common spaces and fields to perform, practice, publish, build and compete. Get a small glimpse of one week’s nocturnal action.
