The Capital City Cavaliers had two chances to win Tuesday’s game against the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers and send their two seniors off on the right note on Senior Night.
But both opportunities came up empty as the Tigers walked out of Capital City High School with a 49-47 victory after erasing an 11-point second-half deficit.
SEDALIA The Capital City Lady Cavaliers finished their regular season Tuesday with their first conference win, defeating the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers 64-42 in Central Missouri Activities Conference play.
Capital City’s middle weights built a lead the Cavaliers wouldn’t give up. After the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers went up 18-12 after three weights, with one forfeit each way, the Cavaliers strung together four pins and a forfeit win to help build a 54-28 Central Missouri Activities Conference win Tuesday night at Capital City High School.
The Jefferson City Jays used a big second quarter Tuesday night to roll to a 76-40 victory against the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers in Central Missouri Activities Conference action.
It’s just alignment, assignment and technique this week for Capital City. The Cavaliers got back on track with a 42-29 win against the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tigers last week. Now they will face the Truman Patriots, who have only one win in the last three calendar years.
