The decision by prosecutors to pursue a criminal case against bill cosby right now came just days before pennsylvanias 12 year statute of limitations was about to run out. Bill cosbys alleged Sexual Assault on Andrea Constand happened 12 years ago. The previous District Attorney at that time declined to criminally charge cosby. The current prosecutor chose to reopen the case over the summer after constands civil suit became public. At about the same time dozens of other women came forward with similar accusations.
