There was a standoff with inmates at the james t. Vaughn correctional center. They took over a building and took those workers hostage yesterday. After 18 hours, police ended it this morning. And in just the last half hour, prison Officials Say a corrections officer, steven floyd had died. Prayers all day yesterday was that this event would end with a but it didnt. So today all of us mourn the family of sergeant floyd. The inmates told the local paper they did this because they had problems with their treatment and with President Trump. All the orange shaded counties including the district, many of our maryland counties currently seeing high winds. We still have the potential to see wind gusts near 60 miles an hour for the rest of the day today. Those will be damaging winds knocking down tree limbs and power lines so we still have the risk of that through the afternoon.
