Lets get right over to meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger on the latest on this bitter blast. You said it, now that the storms gone, guys, at least the sun will come out. But doesnt do anything to help warm you up. Jet stream so far south, the cold has just sunk in here, from the depths of the arctic, thats going to keep things incredibly harsh outside. So, heres what is left of the noreaster, still, making its fresh across parts of atlantic canada. Clearly the snow and, you know , any kind of precipitation done for us, and we going to see some sun through the day. Now, just got to talk about the windchill. Weve warnings posted, up towardhe pocono region, if thats where you are waking up this morning, it is incredibly harsh up that way, with windchills as low as the 20s below zero, then advisories everywhere else. These actually last us, through tomorrow, but just today, gives you idea of how it will feel. Throughout the course of the entire day, it could feel no better than 15 below zero
Very harsh conditions, especially, since some of you need to break out the shovel and get out and just clean up whats been dumped behind from the noreaster, which at this point is now Atlantic Canada issue. So it is gone. But the arctic chill, and the winds, is still persistent. That will continue right through tomorrow at least. So, weve got windchill advisories posted through that time frame. It is windchill warnings, as you go up carbon, monroe counties, wayne pike, the rest of them, but regardless, it is just incredibly harsh look at mount pocono, my goodness, feels like 27 below zero right now. So while technically expect to go hit 17 in the city, you just cant go by that. It isnt going to feel like were in positive territory. Pretty much any time for the next 48 hours. Up in the pocon

The sentencing hearing, which is still taking place on the second floor of the hall of justice behind me here in San Francisco was just in recess. It is back in session. It is expected that the judge will sentence Jose Ines Garcia zarate to the maximum three years in prison after being convicted of a firearm possession in the death of kate steinle. Again, that sentencing has not taken place yet, this is what legal experts are expecting. Hes likely fulfilled that sentence given time served. Zarate was acquitted in the 2015 shooting death of steinle at San Franciscos pier 14. This is after the jury decided he was not guilty of murder and manslaughter charges. This morning, his defense team will argue for a retrial on that possession conviction. His lawyers claim the jury was not informed about transitory possession, thats the idea that Garcia Zarate held the weapon briefly but not long enough to call it possession. The prosecution filed a motion this week arguing that that claim is bogus
