Officers were justified in killing this man. As Police Gather evidence this morning on cork place in south San Francisco, one resident on the street said she couldnt imagine having a man standing in front of her home holding a sotgun. Its scary. That is really scary. Reporter but that is exactly what police say happened. They got the call just before midnight about a disturbance involving a man with a gun. When they arrived, they say he was standing in the middle of the street. The officers game multiple commands for that subject to disarm himself with that shotgun. Reporter a man living across the street heard what happened next. The dog was barking. Looked out the window, i seen the lights flashing. Heard a couple more, most likely gunshots, and then the redd lights and everything so i couldnt see much at all. Reporter he describes hearing several gunshots. At this time police have not said how many officers fired their guns or whether the man shot at officers. Or he failed to comply
This is just a fourth officerinvolved shooting in South San Francisco in the past three year, so this is something folks in this area just arent accustomed to, but i want to show you guys behind me. The ian is still taped off on the 3700block of court place. Still an active investigation. Definitely in front of the house where this took place. You could even see the rear window of a car is blown out, shattered glass that were noticing here as we point the cameras, but lets go and show you the video from overnight when this all took place. Now, where you saw a much heavier Police Presence with multiple agencies on and. According to South San Francisco police they were called to this block where were standing just before midnight for what they are calling was a disturbance in this area. When they arrived they say a man who is a resident in this neighborhood confronted them outside holding a shotgun and police say they repeatedly told that man to drop the weapon.
