According to South San Francisco police they were called to this block where were standing just before midnight for what they are calling was a disturbance in this area. When they arrived they say a man who is a resident in this neighborhood confronted them outside holding a shotgun and police say they repeatedly told that man to drop the weapon. He didnt comply and thats when police fired shots at that man and the man dying from the gunshots. Well show you video from this morning. Residents were walking out to an unfamiliar scene with the heavy Police Presence in their neighborhood. Heres what they are saying about the incident this morning. You never know where its going to happen or who is living next to you, and like i say in a quieter residential area things could be going on and you would never hear about it. I dont know. One officer had minor injuries but no outstanding suspects related to the shooting so the neighborhood is deemed safe by the South San Francisco police. Huricials say the plane had a cracked front gear and flat. About 150 people were on that flight. Its a different one. This is the second united ninlines incident at Newark International airport in two their nvolving a californiabound flight. Just yesterday there were frightening moments on board this flight that was headed to San Francisco after their plane caught fire while on the tarmac in newark. United flight 1579 did finally make it here to sfo early this morning, about five hours later than was planned. People were yelling fire and the stewardess was screaming and it was very traumatic. People started grabbing their bag anded and im like, okay, no, dont grab your baggage. Get off the plane. I stopped 10 or 15 people from reaching into the overbin and getting, you know, their big bags out of the overhead bin. The united flight attendants deployed the emergency chutes to get all 124 passengers and the crew members safely off the aircraft. Im five minor injuries. Newark Liberty International was temporarily closed as a result. The pilot had Just Announced that they were number 18 for takeoff when some passengers started to smell jet fuel but no one we spoke with actually saw smoke or fire. The pilots werent even aware until air Traffic Control alerted them that they saw flames coming out of one of their engines. Stand by. Got over 100 passengers standing on the taxi well. They were advised that this the right engine was on fire. They had no indication inside of right now theres no visible fire.
