WESTFORD Amid continuing challenges wrought by the COVID crisis, Westford Academy seniors graduated, taking their diplomas and countless memories with them on the next step of their journey.
The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 took place June 5, at Westford Academy s Trustees Field postponed a day, due to questionable weather.
Resiliency amid change
Class President Viraj Jayaraman said, During my time at Westford Academy I’ve taken many classes, but the most important truth that I’ve learned is that education is much more than academics. I’ve learned to be confident in what I know, and comfortable with what I don’t yet.

WESTFORD With a state mandate coming into effect, the school district is preparing for a full, in-person return for the elementary grades on April 5.
Superintendent of Schools Everett Bill Olsen provided an update at the March 29 School Committee meeting.
Although Olsen expressed optimism including in the eventual vaccination of young students he also urged caution, noting recent increases in COVID-19 cases. We re looking forward. We re anxious, we re ready, said Olsen. It s like the first day of school, in late summer.
Sharing updates
Olsen said the central office and individual principals have shared details with families about the return. A document was set to go out this week, addressing several topics, including transportation.
