M stephanie woods. Adam i m adam sexton. Firefighters say getting the 3 out of the vehicle was not an easy task. The crash happened in the southbound lanes just north of the massachusetts state line. Wmur s Kristen Carosa tells us what made this rescue so difficult. Kristen this is where the car came crashing in. It landed in the woods on top of trees, making it very hard to pull the people out of the car to safety. Firefighters are calling this one of the most extensive extrications they have ever had to perform. Being on an incline, can t stand up. 28 years as a firefighter, this was the hardest extrication i have ever had to participate in. Kristen a car crashed on 93 south around 5 30 this morning in salem. People living nearby made the 911 call. There was a car that had punched through the guard rail that traveled approximately another 150 feet. It was suspended in the air by trees. It was upside down with three vehicle.
