Gunshots rang out just after noon on Monday near Central High School, at the corner of 17th Avenue and Sayre Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.
An armed suspect has died following a lengthy police chase in Delaware that began Friday morning in Newport, New Castle County, and ended on I-95 South in the area of Newark, near Route 896, Delaware State Police said. The suspect exchanged gunfire with police at multiple locations and carjacked two drivers during the pursuit. The suspect's name has not been released.
