Prayagraj: In Magh Mela 2024, which is being organised as a trial for Maha Kumbh 2025, the land to seers and religious organisations is being allotted.
The Magh Mela authorities have started the land allotment work for the annual religious fair. The land is being allotted to seers, religious and cultural organisations and institutions to set up camps on the banks of the Ganga. The Magh Mela is a 54-day religious fair that will commence from January 15. It will have six main bathing days and a tent city will be set up across 750 hectares.
The Prayagraj Mela Authorities will start allotment of land to different religious and social organisations for setting up camps for the annual Magh Mela 2024 on December 21. Find out more about the process and dates here.

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party’s Chief Spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj held a crucial press conference on Friday to inform the media that the BJP-ruled MCD will be demolishing the MCD Market in the famous Gaffar Market area to reconstruct the complex and then sell the shops in a fresh manner while evicting the existing shopkeepers. The BJP-ruled MCD wants to evict shopkeepers who were given a lease of 99 years in 1976 and reconstruct it with a new builder who will sell these shops to new people instead. While addressing the press conference he further said that the MCD did not carry out maintenance for 40 years and has now served an eviction notice to empty the market within 3 days. He questioned that if the shops were made using poor grade cement, is it the fault of the shopkeepers or the MCD who constructed this rubbish building? Prayagraj: Prayagraj Mela Authority (PMA) started allotting land to seers, individuals and organisations for setting up camps at Magh Mela ground on Monday. The move marks the formal start of preparations for the Magh Mela.
Magha Mela would start on January 14 next year with the Makar Sankranti snan and culminate on March 11 on Mahashivratri.
Prayagraj Mela Authority (PMA) had finalised the schedule for land allotment after several rounds of meetings.
The administration said that if a seer, individual or organisation does not attend the Magh Mela due to the pandemic, they would not have to face any shortage of the usual facilities extended to them when the fair is organised again in 2022.
