We want to begin with breaking news in the search for Malaysia Airlines flight 370. Search planes taking off right now. The biggest search day so far thats just beginning at this hour. 11 military planes and four civil jets are taking to the skies. They are joining 11 ships. Today two navy vessels are towing pinger locators to locate the black box. They are beginning the underwater search. They are racing against time. The plan was to deploy those locators once the debris field was found. Since the chances are next to nothing it will find the debris without an indicator. The black box ping will go silent forever within the next few days. Its a long shot beyond long shots. The ship needs to move slowly in order for the locator to bronxerly. The ships only move three miles an hour. The search area is 84,000 square miles. We go to perth where the search is beginning. Narrow the search zone, again, word on that any time now. Were also hearing from flight 370 that it was the captain there on the left, not the first officer, who uttered those worded to air traffic control. That has gone back and forth, remember, from others who said it was the copilot. And they suggested that the plane descended sharply after crossing the malaysian peninsula. That and much more, lets start with Michael Holmes, so the air force michael detecting another signal after the other four that were heard. How did they detect it . Yeah, it is fascinating, anderson, what they are. They are called sonobuoys, or buoys, they are dropped from the aircraft and are being spread around the search area as an added tool if you will. Electronic ears, listening to anything from malaysian flight 370. They can carry up to 70 of these, peppering the ocean field. One has already picked up four pings from the towed pinger locator. They drop a line down from a thousand feet and listen basically.
