The toys and giftware company has acquired the 158,000 sq ft former base of Geometric Furniture, a 7.44-acre site on Townley Street.
Character Group was represented on the deal in the Rochdale district by Davies Harrison, which recently disposed of a 340,493 sq ft mill in Oldham for the business, Renaker subsidiary Kellen Homes taking the site in a £3.5m transaction.
Geometric Furniture was represented by Preston O’Herlihy.
Rick Davies, director at Davies Harrison, said: “We were pleased to have found suitable replacement overspill warehousing premises for Character Group that met with its requirements.”
Kiran Shah, joint managing director of Character Group, added: “It has been a great experience working on this project with Rick and the team. Their experience, guidance, efficiency and good humour in managing this project has been invaluable in identifying, investigating and completing this acquisition.”
BARNFIELD Developments are delighted to announce the purchase of a five-acre site for commercial development in Carnforth. The site, which has outline consent for B1, B2 and B8 use, is the latest acquisition for Barnfield Group’s rapidly growing development arm. Scheme proposals are currently being worked up for high quality units from 4,000sqft. The scheme, named Carnforth 356, is located on the A601(M) fronting Junction 35 of the M6. The development was named primarily linking the site with the location (Junction 35 of the M6), but inspiration was also taken from the old Porsche model 356, as a nod to the neighbours - the new Porsche Centre South Lakes, which is currently being constructed on the adjacent plot.
