THE mayor of a rural Lancashire town has described the community’s shock after a murder probe was launched and concluded within 24 hours. Police were called to an address on Kings Drive, Carnforth following the death of a woman in her 40s on Wednesday. Officers arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of murder during the investigation but later released him without charge after a post mortem revealed there was no third part involvement. Cllr Kath Bromilow, the mayor of Carnforth, said the police had been ‘really quick to respond’. “It’s a shock,” said Cllr Bromilow. “It’s always a shock when somebody’s died in the community, from whatever circumstances, and a youngish person as well.
BARNFIELD Developments are delighted to announce the purchase of a five-acre site for commercial development in Carnforth. The site, which has outline consent for B1, B2 and B8 use, is the latest acquisition for Barnfield Group’s rapidly growing development arm. Scheme proposals are currently being worked up for high quality units from 4,000sqft. The scheme, named Carnforth 356, is located on the A601(M) fronting Junction 35 of the M6. The development was named primarily linking the site with the location (Junction 35 of the M6), but inspiration was also taken from the old Porsche model 356, as a nod to the neighbours - the new Porsche Centre South Lakes, which is currently being constructed on the adjacent plot.
