This Friday, Santa Cruz fans of Corrine Bailey Rae will not have to simply put their records on to experience her music. They can do so when the Leeds, England-based neo-soul singer comes to the Rio Theatre.
"While we didn't see flooding this round, it does set us up for something to keep an eye on if we do get another series of storms like that," said Santa Cruz County spokesperson Jason Hoppin.
Mariachis Juveniles y Más takes place Jan. 20 at 3 p.m and 7 p.m. at the Henry J. Mello Center, 250 E. Beach St., Watsonville. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and children.
NAACP Santa Cruz County annouced events planned later in January to celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a Youth Day event Jan. 13 at the Resource Center for Nonviolence and a march in downtown Santa Cruz on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
