Students, district officials and project funders celebrated the completion of a 20-foot by 8-foot tiny home with a ceremony Monday. Constructed by approximately 200 students, the house features a bedroom with an overhead fan, bathroom with a shower and a kitchen with a stove and miniature refrigerator.
Students from schools around Santa Cruz County and the state will travel to Dearborn, Michigan, this week for the National Invention Convention. Students qualified to compete at the national level first by becoming finalists at one of two California Invention Conventions held earlier in the spring.
In a statement this week, the Pajaro Valley Unified School District corrected earlier statements that a contractor charged with child molestation and briefly employed by the district had no interaction with its students.
