Late this afternoon, two covid19 patients were transferred here to the Convention Center from local hospitals. And more patients are expected to arrive here later this week. Covid19 patients with milder symptoms are now recovering at the santa clara Convention Center. Instead of hosting tech conferences, the center is transferred into a federal medical station with 250 beds, where doctors, nurses and pharmacists will treat patients 24 7. As more patients pour into bay area hospitals, this site will decrease the patient load and help hospitals focus on more critical patients. They will have the ability to transfer low acuity patients to this site, where they can carry out their recovery for the coronavirus.
