So far. Most days of november we have been looking for rainfall. Finally november 26 we are talking about significant rainfall not only here in the bay area but approaching the north coast of california. Pollen days when dr. Lou started peeling off. I couldnt breathe. The professor that studies Environmental Health was still until he got the diagnosis. Because of pollen. Something that is getting worse. Because of the warming temperatures. It is torture. The symptoms are exacerbated by the amount of pollen in the air that is determined by a daily pollen count. Single to double digits is low. The 1500 range is high. Anything beyond that is an off the chart day like recently. In april the pollen count was extremely high, reaching 8740. That is the thirdhighest day since they started counting this in 1991. So many people dont realize what we do. Technicians remove the grain and then under a microscope , they count each one. Into another battle with firefighters going up against mother nature. Just like the northbay firefighters, strong wind is a big problem and really whipping up the flames.
