Cooperators moot idea of separate Ministry for “Co-operative Sector”

The crucial meeting of co-operators from different sectors which was called by NCUI on Tuesday, proved a gamechanger with the idea of a separate ministry for co-operative getting support from all quarters.
It has been our long-time demand as we always felt that the subject “cooperation” does not get its due attention on account of being a part of the Agriculture Ministry, said NCUI President Dileep Sanghani to the Indian Cooperative.
The virtual meeting which was attended by more than 40 leaders and addressed by Union Minister Parshottam Rupala, reiterated demand for a separate ministry for the cooperative sector.

The 44th AGM of apex labour co-op federation NLCF turned stormy with members after members expressing anger over one of the Directors V V P Nair filing a police complaint over an alleged misappropriation of funds.
The atmosphere turned toxic soon after the beginning of the proceedings. The Managing Director put the agenda which was passed by the members and then began an acidic round of allegation and counter allegation. Majority of members were up on their feet demanding expulsion of Nair and his society from its membership to the apex body NLCF.
“Bowing to the overwhelming response of members, the NLCF’s General Body passes the resolution of expelling Nair’s society”, said Ashok Dabas concluding the debate and trying to end the mayhem being witnessed at the top floor of Federation’s Sarita Vihar office in Delhi on Monday.
V V P Nair has readied a Police complaint against the top management of National Labour Cooperative Federation of India Limited (NLCF). A copy of the said Police complaint is circulating in the cooperative corridor.
Indian Cooperative has no idea if the complaint has been lodged or is merely a black-mailing tactic. A copy of the same with Indian Cooperative has no police stamping or any official seal. The three persons against whom the Complaint has been lodged are Sanjeev Kushalkar (former Chairman, NLCF), Amit Bajaj (present Vice-Chairman, NLCF) and Managing Director, Smt. Pratibha Ahuja
The complaint is addressed to SHO Sarita Vihar Police Station, Commissioner of Police Jai Singh Road, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and Joint Commissioner of Police EoW.
