The Santa Cruz Planning Commission will consider the Cruz Hotel project on Front Street in Downtown Santa Cruz at its meeting Thursday evening. The proposed project would be six stories, or about 70-feet tall and hold 232 rooms and three floors of underground parking with 214 spaces.
A new mosaic mural dubbed "Dancing Waters" was unveiled at the River Front garage Wednesday afternoon. The mosaic, which tells the story of water's endless dance, was sponsored by the city of Santa Cruz and designed by local artist Maha Jumaie Taitano with support from the Watsonville-based Community Arts and Empowerment, led by longtime community artist, Kathleen Crocetti.
