The city of Santa Cruz recently announced the release of the public review draft of its downtown plan expansion project, which would change the zoning in the neighborhood south of Laurel Street to pave the way for a new stadium and a series of highrise buildings. Community members are urged to provide their feedback about the document by July 10.
The Santa Cruz Planning Commission will consider the Cruz Hotel project on Front Street in Downtown Santa Cruz at its meeting Thursday evening. The proposed project would be six stories, or about 70-feet tall and hold 232 rooms and three floors of underground parking with 214 spaces.
